The Weekly Deep Reset
Forty-five minutes on Sunday. A kitchen that functions beautifully all week long.
One session per week.
Four kitchen zones.
The weekly deep reset complements your daily practice by addressing areas that the quick evening clean doesn't touch. Move through each zone systematically — you'll spend around 10–12 minutes per zone.
Refrigerator Zone
10–12 minutesRemove everything from one shelf at a time. Check expiry dates, wipe down the shelf, and return only what's needed.
- Discard expired items
- Wipe shelves and door pockets
- Group by category: dairy, produce, leftovers
- Check condiment shelf
Pantry Zone
10–12 minutesScan for expired or near-empty items. Reorganize shelves so the most-used items are at eye level and front-of-shelf.
- FIFO — first in, first out rotation
- Decant bulk items if needed
- Wipe down shelves if dusty
- Create a "needs restocking" list
Storage Zone
10 minutesOpen one cabinet or drawer at a time. Reorganize, remove items that have migrated to the wrong place, tidy.
- Nest bowls and containers by size
- Return errant items to correct drawers
- Check for items that need replacing
- Wipe inside of cabinets as needed
Deep Clean Zone
10–15 minutesThe areas that daily cleaning misses: behind appliances, inside the microwave, oven top, under the sink, the backsplash.
- Clean microwave interior
- Wipe down fridge exterior
- Degrease stovetop and hood filter
- Mop or sweep kitchen floor

The Sunday Reset
ritual
Sunday morning is the ideal time for the weekly deep reset. The kitchen is quiet, the week ahead is fresh, and what you do now directly shapes how smoothly the next seven days unfold.
Keep a running list throughout the week of items that need restocking or areas that need attention. Sunday becomes a planned practice, not an improvised scramble.
